²³ And when they had beaten them sore, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them securely. ²⁴ Which jailer, when he had received such direction, thrust them into the inner prison and made their feet fast in the stocks.

²⁵ At midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and lauding God, and the prisoners heard them.
